This document outlines crucial details regarding the application process, payment procedures, cancellation and refund policies, liability limitations, and the use of personal information. Terms and Conditions

Our Contract with You

  1. Acceptance of Terms: By submitting your application for the Summer School, you agree to these terms and conditions.

  2. Application Process: After submitting your application, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt and confirming whether you have a provisional place offer or if your application has been rejected.

Tuition Fee and Payment

  1. Payment in Euros: All payments must be made in € Euros. Currency conversion costs or other charges incurred in making the payment or in processing a refund are your responsibility and are not deductible from the tuition fees.

Your Rights to Cancel and Refund Policy

  1. Cancellation Rights:

    • You have the right to cancel until 20th  of August after that day it will be  non-refundable
    • You can cancel at any time if we are affected by an event outside our control or if terms change materially to your disadvantage
  2. Procedure for Cancellation: To cancel, a written request must be sent to the Summer School Team, explaining your reason for cancellation.

Our Rights to Cancel and Refund

  1. Course Cancellation by Us:
    • We reserve the right to cancel the course due to events outside our control or if the course fails to meet minimum recruitment levels 12 weeks before its start.
    • If we cancel the course, we will refund the tuition fees. We are not liable for other costs or losses incurred, and you are advised to have insurance against course cancellation.

Liability and Insurance

  1. Limitation of Liability: The liability of the University of Ioannina is limited to the amount of tuition fees paid, except in cases of liability for death or personal injury caused by the University’s negligence or other scenarios where limitation of liability is not permitted by law.

  2. Insurance: The University does not provide personal insurance for students. You are responsible for obtaining personal insurance coverage, particularly for personal possessions and medical expenses.

  3. Damage Responsibility: You will be responsible for any damage caused by the student.

Events Outside Our Control

  1. Force Majeure: We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations due to events outside our reasonable control.

Changes to Terms

  1. Amendments to Terms: We may revise these terms to comply with relevant laws and regulatory requirements.

  2. Notice of Changes: If there are changes to terms, we will give at least one month’s notice before they take effect. You can choose to cancel your place in accordance with the cancellation policy.

Visual and/or Audio Recordings

  1. Recordings Policy: Unauthorized recordings of lectures are prohibited. We may take photographs or digital media of participants for use in our publications, website, or publicity materials.

Personal Information Use

  1. Data Privacy: The information you provide will be used for application, admission, registration, and administration of the Summer School. Please refer to our data privacy notice for more details.

Governing Law

  1. Jurisdiction: This agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece. Disputes will be settled under the Rules of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce.
